Nickel plated wire is an especially versatile conductor. LEONI (particularly LEONI Temco in England and LEONI Wire Inc. in the US) has been supplying this for many years to cable producers and component manufacturers. Its outstanding advantages are:
- excellent corrosion resistance
- temperature resistance of up to 750 °C (depending on the thickness of the nickel plating, which can be up to a 27 % proportion of the weight).
Due to these properties, nickel plated conductors are increasingly used for production of high performance cables for extreme environmental conditions. Nickel plated wire is very well suited to all types of high temperature insulation including PTFE, ETFE, glass fiver, silicone, PFA, etc.
We produce nickel plated wires with a large variety of core materials and with plate thicknesses of between 2 and 27 % of the overall weight. The quantity of nickel used per kg of copper is shown in a table that you can download here.

We make nickel plated conductors in the following versions
Round wires
Braided wires
Bunched conductors
Concentric conductors (unilay/true concentric)
Semi-concentric conductors
(bunched conductors with even surfaces)
